Teams from opposite ends of Lancashire will represent Blackburn Rovers in the regional final of the FA Premier League Schools Football Tournament. Bolton-le-Sands Primary School will compete in the Boys Under-11 event, while Haslingden High School will wear Rovers' colours in the Girls Under-13 category. The two teams came out on top in the local finals, which were hosted by Blackburn Rovers Community Trust at the club's indoor centre. Bolton-le-Sands beat Belthorn 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after their final had ended 2-2, whilst Haslingden triumphed 2-1 over Unity College. The successful schools will return to Ewood Park on April 21st, where they will represent Rovers against Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton and Burnley for a chance to play at Anfield in the national final in May. Organiser Chris Pettigrew, from Rovers' Community Trust, said: "At the end of another very successful event, Bolton-le-Sands and Haslingden were worthy winners and I wish them the best of luck in the regional final next month."
