Rovers’ star David Goodwillie was the guest of honour at the latest presentation event staged by Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

The Scotland striker was on hand at Ewood Park to celebrate the achievements of attendees who had successfully participated in the Education Department’s daytime and after-school programmes.

Providing young people with the chance to experience a variety of imaginative learning activities in a stimulating environment, an increasing number of learners from local schools and community organisations benefit each year from participation in the wide range of programmes on offer at the Community Trust.

David presented awards to youngsters who participated in the GOAL!, Pitching In, Double Club and Gifted and Talented (English) initiatives.

Along with certificates and match tickets to Blackburn Rovers versus Queens Park Rangers, prize winners received Rovers ‘Goodie’ bags for positive attitude. Additionally, participants who showed the most progress each received a signed ball, whilst the pupils who showed the most outstanding contribution to their respective projects were each awarded with a signed shirt.

David is pictured with prize winners from St Silas, Meadowhead Juniors and Witton Park schools and the Kids North West group.
