Growing Equipped
The Growing Equipped project funded by the Blackburn with Darwen Community Safety Partnership, committed young people aged 12-17 to a seven-week early-evening programme at Ewood Park, comprising educational workshops and multi- sports coaching. Through the various activities undertaken, including film-making, the project aims to encourage the participants to think more positively about their future and the successes that they want to achieve. A particularly hard-hitting part of the programme involves a visit to HMP Preston, where youngsters were encouraged to think about the consequences of crime and the harsh reality of life behind bars.
