Using the power of football and the appeal of professional clubs, the Kickz programme targets some of the most disadvantaged areas of the country. Kickz offers 11 - 18 year olds the chance to take part in positve activity. The project is funded by the Football Foundation and Blackburn with Darwen Community Safety Partnership. The aim of the project is to create safer, stronger, more respectful communities through the development of young people's potential.

The Trust currently runs a Kickz project in the Bastwell area of Blackburn, which has been running for nearly three years. The first Community Trust Kickz project was launched in November 2006. The project has engaged local young people using the 'hook' of a professional football club. The project has also significantly contributed to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour with the locality on days it is running.

With a dedicated and enthusiastic Community Trust Kickz team engaging with local young people the project provides a safe, supervised, fun and challenging environment for them.

The Community Trust Kickz project has worked tirelessly to engage many, often marginalised and disenfranchised young people from the local area in positive meaningful activities with real credible outcomes and to develop themselves as individuals as well as enhance their life chances and create better relationships with the coaches, their peers and within their local community.
