A grand collection on Community Trust day

Saturday’s climatic conditions may not have lent themselves to spending too much time outdoors, but between the showers, we were able to make the most of the chance to showcase the work of the Community Trust on this season’s designated awareness day.

With added attractions such as a free book giveaway to mark World Book Day and football freestylers entertaining the crowds, it made for a family-friendly day for all in attendance at the Preston North End fixture, with one fan also taking home £1,000 from the specially boosted Rovers Return draw.

However, there was an even bigger total coming the way of the Community Trust and its planned disability football teams.

A £500 donation from the football club (as seen in the presentation from Steve Waggott, Blackburn Rovers CEO, to Gary Robinson, BRCT CEO, above) coupled with the generosity of our supporters through the ‘Bring A Pound To The Ground’ bucket collection meant that a four figure sum can now help to send the new teams to tournaments or one-off fixtures. Thank you to all who donated.
