BTEC Diploma in Sport

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are already looking for players to join their combined football and education scholarship for the 2018/19 season.

16 - 18 year-old footballer? Considering college? Why not sign up to the Blackburn Rovers BTEC in Sport programme?

It is a unique opportunity for ambitious football fans to study at Ewood Park and represent Blackburn Rovers in organised football or futsal contests against fellow BTEC students at other professional clubs.

During the scholarship, students can earn qualifications that will help gain employment in the sport and leisure industry – possibly even with Rovers' Community Trust.

Participants will also train and compete for Rovers in a professionally-managed football environment in an 11-a-side games programme against representative teams from other professional clubs in the EFL.

Students will receive high-quality football training for a minimum of six hours per week, spread over a minimum of four sessions (players can still represent their own club at the weekend). Training will be supplemented with fortnightly fixtures against other professional clubs.

The course is based at Ewood Park, with all of the matches being played at a selection of quality local facilities, including numerous semi professional clubs' grounds.

Work experience options within Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are made available to the best candidates whilst on the course, along with the chance to gain your Futsal Level 1 coaching certificate and FA Level 1 coaching certificate.

Being part of our programme can get you noticed, as Jade Elliott found out when her unique status as the region's only female participant in the futsal/education programme of time got her a full page story in the Lancashire Evening Post and a feature on new Freeview channel That's Lancashire. Here's the news report that talks about her efforts and the many reasons why others should consider our scholarship.
